On this– the day of my daughters wedding… Vito Corleone

Good morning my loyal Painkillers, newbies to the site, and anime fans! Welcome to another edition of Saturday Morning Cinema. Here in the States at the time of me writing this, all you here on the news and social media are these abortion bills that are trying to pass in some states. For some reason, all of this reminded me of this anime movie. I don’t know why, maybe because if these bills actually go into affect, like in this anime, people might be finding more babies in dumpsters. Here is Tokyo Godfathers.

The movie opens up on Christmas Eve. Here we meet three homeless people on their search for food. While searching in a dumpster, they find a baby. With the baby, they find a note that states whoever finds the baby, to please take care of the baby. There is also a bag that has clues to the identity of the baby’s parents. The homeless people take it apond themselves to track down the patents, and reunite them with their baby.

This is a hell of an anime! There are so many different twists and turns in this, that it keeps you guessing until the end. You get to see and understand what happened to each of the homeless people, that lead them to become the way they are. Does this movie end with a happy ending? Find out for yourself by watching it on Crackle. I hope that you enjoy this movie as much as I did. Until next time everyone!
