Half-Baked Conspiracy – 3

Eternal youth… Or something like that~

Good afternoon everyone, and welcome to the latest installment of Half Baked Conspiracies. For those that are not familiar with this, the HBCL goes over a conspiracy theory from some of our favorite cartoons, and we give our thoughts, saying if we think that the theory is true or not. Today we will be looking at the popular Cartoon Network show Ed Edd N Eddy. Is the Cul-de-sac really purgatory, and all of our favorite characters are just waiting to get into heaven? Here is how the theory goes:

Ok first off, this theory is extremely long, so I’m shortening it as much as possible. The theory goes that all the kids that we know and love are all dead, and the cul-de-sac is just purgatory. Apparently, all the kids lived on the same plot of land from the early 1900s all the way till the early 2000s. Each kid died in some crazy way, usually accidents or illness. Since all the deaths happened on the same piece of land they all end up in the same purgatory, what we know as the cul-de-sac. What do you guys think? Well, here is how some of the HBCL responded.

A few words from The Chairman:

This is a pretty interesting one for me.

I’d grown quickly fond of the series as a child, but never had it dawned on me that this could be the case.

It was always just the cartoon logic of the times. No one ages, no one dies, sound effects played a bigger role than animation– and furthermore: despite the fact that the parents are never actually seen, they ARE referred to often and even play a role in the lives of the children that the camera never gets to see.

Besides– we’ve gotten to finally meet Eddy’s big brother.

They’re as ‘alive’ as a they can be in a cartoon sense. Good enough for me~

Creepy pasta is creepy pasta. Nothing more, nothing less.

But always fun~

I enjoy this theory and agree that it makes perfect sense. As a child I never noticed things like that because I was focused on the artwork and kid things. Once I heard this theory I went and rewatched a few episodes, since some years have passed from the last time I viewed it. I studied the characters and settings, coming to the conclusion that this could be possibly true. I don’t feel it ruined my childhood memories but it did enhance them. Opened my mind to whole new view on it and created a different yet still comical story.

Captain Pain:

I actually think that this theory is true. I moved around a lot, and each neighborhood will have people from different backgrounds, cultures, and upbringings. This show on the otherhand, takes that to a whole different level. Just look at Rolf and Johnny. If this was a poor neighborhood, then it would probably make more sense that Rolf is the way he is, and Johnny best friend/only toy is a piece of wood, but that wouldn’t explain why everyone else is the way they are. So it makes more sense that everyone is from a different time period. Hopefully they all will get into heaven soon.
