Just Got To Knock A Little Harder

Updated: Feb 7, 2020

Or shoot. Shooting works.

Good morning loyal Painkillers, and welcome back to Saturday Morning Cinema. I know that technically it hasn’t been that long since I gave you a good movie to watch, but Saturday morning have been so lonely lately. So for today, I figured that I would talk about a classic. I have talked about this series before, so it just makes sense to talk about the movie. So without further delay, let’s dive into Cowboy Bebop: Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door.

Taking place between episodes 22 and 23 of the series Spike, Jet, Faye, Ed and Ein are back, and doing what they do best, tracking down bounties. On Mars, the day before Halloween, a truck explodes on the streets in the capital city. Comes to find out that the truck was carrying a deadly pathogen, that either killed or sicken hundreds of people. In response to the explosion, the Mars government issued a record setting bounty of 300 million woolong for the capture of the person or people that are responsible. Of course, with that price tag, our heroes where going to fine this person, and cash in for themselves. They find out, that the person responsible for this, was a man named Vincent Volaju, a former military member, that everyone thought was dead. Will the Bebop crew be able to bring down Vincent, and get their hands on that sweet reward? Who is this Vincent guy, and what is his end game? To find out, you have to watch the movie and find out.

I really did enjoy this movie. I haven’t seen it in a long time, but after rewatching the series and writing about it, I knew that I had to dust off the movie and couldn’t wait to re-watch this, and share my thoughts on it. It is always good to see Spike in action, especially since how the series ended. Unfortunately, I own this movie, and the normal streaming services that I would send you guys to don’t have the movie. So unless you are willing to throw down a few dollars to get it on ITunes, the best I can do is to tell you that their are videos on YouTube, but I don’t know how good the quality of them will be. Trust me, if you have to pay for this, even buying the DVD or Blu-ray, it will be worth it. If you want to read up on the original series first, I will add a link to my article on it down below. Until next time Painkillers!
