Return Of The Dhampir!

Updated: Feb 7, 2020

‘Alucard, who?’

Good morning my loyal Painkillers, and welcome to another addition of Saturday Morning Cinema. Well since it is October, it only seems right to bring back an old friend. I talked about the first movie a few months ago here on SMC, so let’s welcome back D! So without further delay, here is Vampire Hunter D:Bloodlust.

The movie opens up with a woman named Charlotte, being kidnapped by Baron Meier Link. He is a vampire nobleman, that enjoys harming humans. Charlotte’s father, Elbourne, hires D to rescue her. He also tells D that if she has been turned into a vampire, that D must kill her instead. At the same time Charlotte’s older brother hires a group of vampire hunters to rescue her as well. Who will get to Charlotte first? Had she already been turned into a vampire? Is she already dead? To find out answers to these questions and more, you must find/buy a copy of this movie and see for yourself.

Thia movie by far, is so much better than the first one. Yes I know, there is like a fifteen year gap in between the first and second movie. Therefore the second movie should look better than the first one. Besides that, I do believe that the storline for the second movie is much better than the first one as well. The twist near the end puts it al together. This is one of those rare occasions which the second movie in a series/franchise is way better than the first one. Unfortunately, I own a physical copy of this movie, and could not find it on any of my usual streaming services, at the time that im writing this. If anyone knows where to find a stream, please leave a comment down below, to inform others where to go. Also, if you haven’t read my article about the first Vampire Hunter D movie, check it out here! Until next time Painkillers!
